Intellij Idea won't start (white screen) after installing Cursive plugin

I installed Intellij. I then installed the Cursive plugin. Intellij idea then will not start -- it just sits there with a fully white screen and does nothing. Why is this and how do I fix it? Thanks

Removing plugins directory should recover IntelliJ IDEA if the issue was caused by the plug-in you have installed (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544519).

Yes it does.
But, I really want this plugin
