Editor Tabs limit and Switcher malfunctioning after update?

Hello,

I limit my open tabs to just 1 to prevent having an infinite open tabs. I also use Switcher (CTRL+TAB) heavily to navigate between recently opened files. I know that there is also Recent Files (CMD+E) and Recent Edited Files (CMD+SHIFT+E) but somehow I got adjusted to Switcher.

Since the upgrade to IntelliJ 2017.1.4 I have found that there are always 2 open tabs, although the setting is still limited to 1. Also the Switcher does not list all recently opened files anymore.

Does anyone know if this is now correct behaviour? I can live with the change for Switcher as there is also the Recent Files option. But that Tab Limit property seems to contain a bug?
