IntelliJ hangs when creating a new project

Hello:

I have another IntelliJ hangs question.  Searched the site before posting and come across other hanging problems but I believe not this one.

When I start IntelliJ -> click Create New Project -> select "Java" on the New Project form -> Next, in the resulting form there's an entry for "Command Line App" under "Create project from template".  To the right of the CL app, there's a spinner/busy bar, which spins forever and nothing else happens.

Any assistance regarding why only a CL app option appears in this window AND the spinny thingy never stops would be greatly appreciated.
