Hi,

I wanted to ask if the binary distributed at https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download is compiled directly from the Github repo code(https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community) or are there some extra proprietary elements added to the code before distributing it.

There is no proprietary code in IntelliJ IDEA CE, it's built from the same code you see on GitHub.
