Widen breadcrumb labels?

Hi - is there a way to increase the amount of text that can be displayed for breadcrumbs? Right now they're being truncated after 14 or 15 characters, despite having a lot of unused space to the right:

Unfortunately, there is no setting for it, but the default breadcrumb size will be increased from 16 to 32 characters in Pycharm 2017.3: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-23295.
