Toolbox update issues on OS X
This morning there was an update to Toolbox available, so I clicked the link to install it. When Toolbox tried to re-launch itself, it failed with the last message being something along the lines of "Please manually reinstall Toolbox". Ok, fair enough - I went and downloaded the latest version and installed it. However, running the freshly downloaded version, apparently it isn't signed? Of course I could force it to launch by ignoring that, but... it should be signed obviously. Is there a problem over at JetBrains HQ with the build machines perhaps?
Oddly, I was able to manually launch the version of Toolbox that was in ~/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/ (the version that gave the re-launch error that a manual install was required), and it didn't need me to ignore the applications (lack of) signing. Doing a diff between the downloaded version (unsigned) and the auto-updated version, they were identical. Does the auto-updated version somehow get around the issue of needing to be signed (because it's outside of /Applications maybe?), or is this just down to how signing works on OS X that it won't show up in a diff?
Anyway, I'm now running the auto-updated version as it seems to be working fine now, and deleted the unsigned downloaded version - just thought JB should be aware that something funky seems to be going on with the latest update.
PS> There isn't a Topic here specifically for Toolbox; I selected IntelliJ IDEA Users just because it's the closest to all-encompassing I figure.
