IntelliJ drops Project Config. on every restart

Hello
Everytime I restart Intellij(community edition) I have to reconfigure my project(i.e set project SDK, enter output destination folder, choose module folder). If I dont do this I cant see my files in the project structure. This happens EVERY TIME i start Intellij. Have googled it but can't find any answers

Please check that files in .idea project directory and .iml files in the module directories are not modified between IDE restarts.
Same problem for me. Just did another setup. .idea files looks solid now. But how would i now the it will be modified again?
The problem is not clear. If you can reproduce it, please report a bug with the steps and the logs (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/207241085) at https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA. Also share a project, if the issue is project specific. Thank you.
The same problem for me. Nearly every time I restart Webstorm .idea files become invalid.
