Webstorm 2017.3 icons

Hello!

I really enjoy using your products. Webstorm updated yesterday and there is one thing that bothers me a lot. You've changed the color of JS file icons and now it's similar to LESS files. It become really hard for me to find the file I want in the tabs.

Can you get back the purple color of the JS icons or just change it with something ;)

Thanks!

thanks for reporting, I've submitted this issue to our UI specialists

You can try Idea 2016.2 Icon Pack UI plugin (available from Settings | Plugins, Browse repositories...) - see if it works for you

Thanks for answering!

This icon pack is ok. Hope that original icons will be changed and I can use them again :)

It would be nice to stop having new icons and colors change too frequently. It really is disruptive once a developer gets comfortable and used to a certain color scheme, (call it developer visual muscle memory or what not), and then get an update where there may be subtle changes to color and icons that forces the developer to readjust.

At least provide ability to customize them if they are going to change quite often. Atom, Sublime, VS code all let you customize. Webstorm should too.

You can try creating your own theme (L&F) with custom icons - see https://github.com/JustSid/AfterglowIntelliJ, https://github.com/ChrisRM/material-theme-jetbrains

Plus, you can assign different icons to actions in Settings | Appearance & Behavior | Menus and Toolbars - there is 'Edit action icon' button that allows choosing a different icon for selected action.
