Can't type in editor window
Answered
i just installed latest JetBrains PyCharm, but i cannot type anything in the editor window. Now I type py files in notepad, and read by Pycharm, it works but it is not the right way. Should I change setup? thanks

hello
I am having the same problem. I had a working pycharm. but since i updated from 2019 to 2020 version it is like this. also i tried installing 2019 again, but tyoing doesn't work.
Now I don't have the same option as shown before. can you suggest any other suggestion?
Make sure the IdeaVim plugin is disabled: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/using-product-as-the-vim-editor.html#
I don't have IdeaVim installed!
But I have installed it after your comment and disabled it. but still, I have the same problem.
Ok, so this is not IdeaVim issue. The next thing I suggest to check is that PyCharm is started with the bundled Java runtime: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/206544879-Selecting-the-JDK-version-the-IDE-will-run-under
... and that default JBR build is used, which for 2020.1.1 is 11.0.6+8-b765.40
If you're not sure how to proceed with this, please submit a support ticket (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/?pycharm), and provide logs (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/207241085-Locating-IDE-log-files)
