Problems with II Ultimate trial

First I installed II Community as I'm just learning Java. It worked fine. But it has no UML function, and I couldn't install UML plugin, the clause Settings in file menu is absent. I read somewhere in internet that UML is available only for Ultimate edition. I installed it, a trial version. Now I have two problems: 1-st, there's still no Settings in file menu, so I still cannot install UML plugin. 2-nd I get message "cannot resolve symbol System". When I open project structure I see in SDK window: 1.8 [invalid]. Community edition still works fine. So I have two questions:
1. What to do to make Ultimate edition work?
2. How to install UML plugin?

If you are on Mac, it will be Preferences instead of Settings. Make sure some project is open.
UML plug-in is bundled in IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, you don't need to install it.
