Intellij IDEA Ultimate plugin release cycles

Answered

Hi all,

I'm using GoLand with evaluation license, it will expire soon, so I thought I will buy Intellij IDEA Ultimate and using the offical Go plugin for development.
I worked with Java too in the last few years(community edition) and sometimes I could use Python/PHP support too, so it seemed a natural choice, until I saw this post: https://stackoverflow.com/a/13829907

It says:
While PHP, Python and Ruby IDEA plug-ins are built from the same source code as used in PhpStorm, PyCharm and RubyMine, product release cycles are not synchronized.
Users in the comments confirm this and they speak about monthly delays.

It's an old post, is it work the same way nowadays?
If so, then I would be very very disappointed, because it's not mentioned anywhere in the official site as far as I see, which is unfair.
I think most of us don't want to use out dated plugins when we payed for them(indirectly), at the same time I like the idea to do my daily work in the same IDE and don't need to open a lot of different one, configure them separately etc.

Is there any official statement about the plugin updates compared to the lightweight IDE updates with the same functionality?

There can be delays in release cycles, but they are usually less than 2 weeks.

Thanks, 2 week sounds reasonable.
