Integrated IDEA SFTP Plugin Connection Issues

So I have been attempting to use the SFTP plugin to upload my built JARs to my cloud server. Sometimes it works, however most of the time it gets stuck and eventually times out. I first thought it was a issue with my server, however I tried using other SFTP file managers and constantly tried connecting, disconnecting, uploading, deleting etc and it all worked flawlessly. Looking around others have reported a few similar problems. Is there any way to fix this?
