InteliJ download

Answered

Hi,

I wanted to download InteliJ.
The first link in Bing is an Ad that points to softronic.com.
I didn't notice it right away, the download already started.

Is JeBrains aware of this?
This is an easy first step to add malware to the download unfortunately.

Hi tcostermans

Are you still seeing this issue in your browser? It could be related a local browser configuration.

I just tested it on Windows 10 using Edge v127 without any ad blockers - the problem is not there.

Do you have it in other browsers? Have you tried enabling built-in ad blockers?

Hey InteliJ Community,

@tvgarden I ran into something similar while trying to get IntelliJ IDEA—it’s honestly worrying how easily a sponsored link can redirect you to a sketchy mirror before you even realize it, and I doubt JetBrains would ever endorse downloads from places like that. It just shows how careful you have to be, even with something as routine as grabbing a dev tool. Personally, I’ve started double-checking every source and sticking to official sites only, whether it’s IDEs or even casual apps.

Thanks a lot!!
