Intellij Ultimate not rendering properly on mac

Hi there, in the last couple of days it appears that Intellij IDEA is not rendering properly on my macbook.
Buttons are missing from the project window, and files aren't rendering in the editor properly. When I open them initally the render properly (most of the time) but if I navigate away and go back the editor is blank, it's not possible to work like this at all.
Has anyone ever come across something like this? Got a fix?
It's an M2 macbook pro, running macOS 14.4.1 (23E224).
I'm running IDEA version: 2024.1 Ultimate Edition:

Does the problem go away if you temporarily disable all of the downloaded plugins and restart the IDE? Preferences | Plugins | ⚙ | Disable all downloaded plugins

Yes, it does appear to be operating as it should if I disable all plugins.
OK, to add to this, my backspace key seems to stop working randomly in the editor. It works elsewhere in the app, but not in the editor.
I've tested it in other applications, on a windows machine, and it works fine, it's specifically in the editor of the IDE.
I don't know what's happened, but the IDE seems very buggy right now. I may have to downgrade.
It also won't let me switch to the old UI to try that. The apply and save buttons don't work when I untick the new UI box.
This is costing me a lot of time now.
Do you have SonarLint plugin installed? We've had reports of backspace key not working due to issues with that plugin. Try disabling it too.
