Unbearably long freezes whenever a character is typed

Whenever I type or remove a character in the editor [or use keyboard shortcuts], the editor freezes for sometimes more than 30 seconds at a time. This makes editing nearly impossible.

Please attach also the IDE UI logs from Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data and share it's uploadID

Just in case, ensure you're using the latest PyCharm version. Which at the moment is 2024.1.4

Hi - I am using 2024.1.4, yes.
I tried to do the step you showed, but it sends me to the /tmp folder where I can't actually find any logs…

I am facing the same behavior, the question is marked as “answered”, but I do not see any reliable answer for my case :-(
