Toggle Terminal Window Not Working

Im running PhpStorm 2024.1.4 | Build #PS-241.18034.69, built on June 21, 2024 on a Mac (Sonoma)

Im noticing that the shortcut to open/close the terminal window (option+F12) has stopped working - wondering if anyone else has noticed this. 

Where can I find the toggle keymap for this functionality?

Hi there,

Settings/Preferences | Keymap – you can change all shortcuts here.

P.S. There is a button at the top right on that screen – it allows searching for action by assigned shortcut. See if it will recognize it– maybe that shortcut it intercepted by the OS / another app?

Thanks Andriy - its back working again this morning (no changes made).

I suspect its a bug as when i lose the option to toggle the terminal window i also lose options in `View / Tool Windows`.

The whole menu looks different – as if it is invoked in a different context or no project is active (??). Are you doing some remote dev session perhaps?

If it happens again: 

  • try remembering (screenshot etc) how the whole thing looks/what is different
  • see if restarting the IDE help

Right now I have no better ideas. Plus, not a Mac user (in case this issue is specific to Mac)
