Connection failed.

Connection to MySQL - @localhost failed. Communications link failure. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.

I get this error when i try to connect to the database and dont know why that might be.

It appears that I have a Similar Problem. But I only get this from Data Grip or WebStorm with Database Plugin. 

IDK why, but after the update to the 8.2 Driver, even existing connection configurations did not work and threw this error. I may have updated my system around that time. Every other Software just worked(adminer, my Project) just the IDE could not connect.

Please provide additional data for analysis:

  • A screenshot of the entire data source connection dialog
  • idea.log file collected after reproducing the issue: Help | Show Log in… I will search for exceptions there.
