PyCharm Updating index in continious loop - unusable

I'm on a MacBook Pro/El Capitan.

PyCharm worked great for a little over a month but now is completely unusable.

As soon as I start the app the Updating index dialog opens and can no longer use the app. I see other people having the same issue.

Has anyone figured out how to fix the issue? Will JetBrains fix this bug?

I have to move to another IDE at this point...
