Cannot open java file for editing after upgrading to 2016.3
Answered
I upgraded to 2016.3 and that is it. I cannot open any Java file for editing. Nothing works. I am completely blocked. I already used some other suggestion to do File->Invalidate Cache/Restart, but it did not help at all.

Please check if https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-164651 is your case.
I checked and I do not have such folder/file to modify:
What do you want to modify? What OS do you use?
Please post your idea.log: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/207241085. The problem you have is probably different if you are not on Mac.
Sorry, did wrong copy/paste, I am on Mac, and do not see idea.jdk file. Where it should be?
Did you check https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544879? You can change JDK from the menu.
I read all threads. I do can open my Project in IntelliJ, but when I want to open Java file, or any other file in Editor window, it does not work.
From the beginning I had only Java 8 installed on my machine and no other versions. I do not understand where exactly I need to look and what else to change, since it worked completely fine yesterday, but after an upgrade I am wasting my time now to debug your product.
Again, my machine has only Java 8 from the beginning and the project is also Java 8.
And BTW, intelliJ in About window uses correct Java by JetBrains.
Need the logs to investigate further: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/207241085.
