I've filed feature request at our bugtracker. Feel free to vote for it and track it's progress.
I'm glad to say that "Chef" plugin for RubyMine and IDEA just has been EAPed, please see the announcement or try the plugin!
Does the plugin see built-in chef classes? Does it work with the node object?
