Distributed pair programming?

Well, no. Not yet. There is a plugin which adds basic collaboration
features like exchanging messages and code pointers, but only in the
local network. Jabber support will be available in the September.

This sounds exciting! But I didn't see the distributed peer programming support. I believe Eclipse has a plugin that offers this:

Is that planned for IntelliJ? This would be very useful for distributed teams (or even to walk people living in different parts of the world through some code).

It is planned in IDEtalk. But there are a lot of other things to
implement before that feature, so be patient. First things first :).
