Reloading plugins...
Is it possible to reload a plugin without having to stop/restart IDEA at
all? Would save time debugging/testing.
Or maybe, is there a small IDEAShell that could be launched from a run
profile...

It's impossible in current IDEA plugins model :(

Thats a pity, although I found all the references to the plugin testing
framework, so will read through that. That should at least give me some
measure of relief.

How? I put IDEA into debug mode and it just crashed the whole thing ;p
Is it possible now? Having the IDE to restart every time a plugin is installed is so anti-productivity!
it has already been answered in this article - https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/206135619- Melon Sandbox-Reloading-plugins
