using the icons.jar
I am not sure if here is the right place to ask but does anyone know if we
are eligible to use the icons that are in the icons.jar file in our plugins.
Actually I am currently developing some plugin and need the icons to be the
same with IDEA.
Thanks.

Thanks for your answer but can I copy the files into my own jar file.
Becasue, you know I am afraid of the file name changes. If the IDEA guys
decide to change an icon's file name I should do so and relase a new verion
of the plug in.

Hello Farzad,
But why you copy it? You can just use it from original jar file.
I think the question must be "is it correct using owr icons in my plugin?",
i guesst it no troubles, but maybe the license restrictions.
Request this:
The license allow me to use the IntelliJ build-in icons in icons.jar
file?
Good luck

Hello,
We don't see any problems if you use our icons directly from our
icons.jar. But you'd better don't copy them - that's quite the same as their
redistribution.

Hello all,
Is it allowed to replace some icons in icons.jar? I would like to
replace some icons and use a custom look an feel to obtain something
like a skin for IDEA: look and feel assiociated with an appropriate icon
set.
Thanks in advance,
Taoufik Romdhane

Hi,
Read your license carefully. It clearly says that you are not.

However, I assume it is OK to distribute an alternate icons.jar which
the user must install himself, as long as it does not use ANY of the
original IDEA icons?
