android "design" tab for layout: how to make "text" tab default?

I like the new "design" tab that offers a GUI for layout.

however, I often open .xml files for quickly verifying something, and I don't want to wait for the "design" tab to start up.

how can I tell Idea to default to the "text" tab when I'm opening a layout file?
