I work in a couple of different code bases-- one is a Grails codebase, and the other is a Scala codebase. They interact with each other, and as such, my workflow typically involves working on them both at the sametime, or looking up information about one for the other, etc. My workflow in the past has always been to have them both open when I'm working back and forth-- I use CE for the Scala code base, and Ultimate for the Grails code base.
I'm not exactly sure when this behavior started happening, but I'm no longer able to have both my registered copy of IntelliJ ultimate open at the same time as IntelliJ Community Edition. I would guess it started happening sometime around me updating to 14.1.2 with Ultimate. I'm running the current EAP with CE.
I'm not really excited about messing with my settings too much, but here is how I'm able to reproduce it:
1. Install current versions of Ultimate and Community Edition
2. Run Ultimate
3. Run CE.. it won't start.
You can reverse the order too.. run CE first, then Ultimate won't start.
Are there any workarounds for this or anything else I can do? I prefer to keep the Scala and Grails IDE's isolated because both are customized and configured separately, and CE is faster without all of the plugins when I'm working in Scala.
