The announcement must have to be updated manually.
I still miss the old method of subscribing to email notification on thegetting email notification on changes to the Maia EAP build announcements thread. This was brought up before, and the only thing I understood from Jetbrains is they only post announcement on twitter now.
If anyone knows a way to still get email notification when new EAP is available, let me know.

I don't use EAP builds any more since the announcements in the newsgroup were abandoned. Jetbrains always had a lack of communication ("team jetbrains") which improved even more since this date.
It doesn't work for me at work and I use IE7.
It doesn't work for me at home and I use FF 3.6.

Pretty useless for those of us who don't use Twitter... what's wrong with posting on their own forums?
Yes, this is annoying.
I've set up my own email notification on watchthatpage.com to email me whenever there is a change to http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/IDEADEV/Maia+EAP
The Confluence Wiki itself has a Watch feature built in. If you don't have one, create an account, and log in. Go to the EAP page (http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/IDEADEV/Maia+EAP). Open the tools menu in the upper right corner and click the "Watch" icon. You will then get e-mails when the page is updated. See
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF28/Watching+a+Page for more information.
Hmm, I don't see any 'Watch' option...
