Slow deployment

Hi,

I am new to Intellij Idea and while I like it quite a lot, there is one thing that frustrates me and that is the slow deployment speed.   For each file deployment, IDEA has to follow these steps: Loggin In, Collecting Files, and then Uploading Files.

1.  Is there a way to maintain login so that once I log in I stay logged in until the connection times out?  That way if I upload multiple files I don't have to log in for each file.

2.  What is "Collecting Files"?  Is this some kind of synchronization?  Can I turn it off?

I use implicit FTPS setting, though it's still slow even when I use regular FTP.
