IntelliJ IDEA hangs at startup

Hello borice,

I noticed that version 8.0.1 of IntelliJ IDEA running on Linux (Ubuntu
8.10 in my case) sometimes hangs at startup and requires a restart of
the computer to be able to start normally.

The EAP version 9540 suffers from this problem too, but seems that
once it hangs, if you're persistent enough after 'kill'-ing the
process several times and restarting it, at some point it will finally
start.

I'm having a similar issue on Cent OS using 8.0.1 and the latest 64 bit JVM.  I've attached my thread dump in hopes that someone can explain to me why IDEA is unable to start on my environment.
