Intellij 10 Perforce Changes tab never updates
With the release of Intellij 10, I decided to try switching development machines from my Ubuntu 10.04 box that was running Intellij 9 with no problems to my new Mac Pro. My project builds with no problems, but I'm running into this really frustrating perforce issue. It really seems like a bug to me, but hopefully it's just me missing something obvious that somebody here can point out.
What's happening is that Intellij seems to be able to use perforce normally for file/directory based actions (e.g. I can get p4 history for a specific file with no problems), but the Changes tab (the one with Local/Repository/Incoming) never updates. It has some outdated information about what the state of my p4 workspace was when I first launched Intellij, but is now completely out of date. I can check out a file in Intellij and the file never shows up in my default changelist.
If I try to open up the commit window (ctrl+k or command+k on the mac), I get a popup saying "Performing VCS refresh..." and it never goes away (I let it run over lunch once).
The perforce server is working fine. p4 commands work as expected from the command line and in p4v.
This is driving me crazy. One of my favorite things about Intellij is its awesome p4 integration - wondering what's going on for me here!
If it helps, I'm running on OS X 10.6 with Java 64 bit. Let me know what other info I can provide to help debug here. And thanks in advance to anybody who reads this!

This probably doesn't help you much but I've been using IDEA 10 through the
whole EAP cycle without any problems like this with P4. In particular the
changes tab has been working fine throughout. I'm running Win32 and Win64
builds of IDEA. I guess that means it's either OS related (unlikely?) or
down to the particulars of your P4 or project configuration.
Having the same issue. Small changelists work fine in p4v, but take 30 min - 1 hour to refresh in IntelliJ. OSX 10.6.5. 8GB Ram. Core i7 2.66 GHz dual core processor. Local LAN connection.
Guessing this might be this issue: http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issue/IDEA-74482, which unfortunately still exists in IDEA 11. I love IDEA but the quality of the perforce integration is lacking and has been for some time :/
