Menus Not Working On Mac OS X [3417]

Just installed the new version and found many of the menu options just don't work. The keyboard shortcuts do (but not all keyboard shortcuts work well on the Mac).

I went back to 3415 and everything works.

So what happened to 3417?

Could you give a few examples of the problems you've encountered?

None of the the options on the "Refactoring" menu would work if I chose the option on the menu. The keyboard shortcut worked, but not the menu.

Rebuild All from the Build menu also would not work.

Everything works fine for me on MacOS X.
Did you install 3417 differently from 3415?

Ok, I tried it again and this time, 3417 appears to be working ok, but I guess that we'll see.....

And, no, I didn't install it differently. I'm not even sure HOW I would install it differently. It isn't like Mac installs are terribly complicated. :)

Hello!

I've had a simmilar effect with IDEA 4.5 when using Panther (10.3.9). After some time (an hour or sometimes several days) the menu stopped responding. This state was easily recognizable as the Quit menu entry was grayed out by then. I never found out why this happened nor how to circumvent it. Restarting IDEA helped.

This effect apparently went away with the update to Tiger (10.4.2 right now). So if this happened with 10.3 maybe you might want to try to update.

Regards,
Wolfram.

Wolfram,

The problem that you are describing is a known 10.3.9 bug (and yes, I see it almost every day, AAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHH). It is not the problem that I had the first time that I installed 3417.
