Navigate occurrences

Hi,

In a previous installation of IntelliJ 8.1.4, I managed to set it so that I could navigate over variable (and constants etc) occurrences by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Up/Down. I can't remember how I did that, can anyone help me explaining how I do that again? I am still using IntelliJ 8.1.4.

Thanks
Markus

Search | Find Usages, then you can navigate between the results.

Probably works, but it is not what I want to do. I want to step through the occurrences without searching for them first. I think I downloaded a plugin that activated the Ctrl+Alt+Up/Down commands, but I cannot remember which one.

Hi Markus,

IJ has built-in IJ facilities that may match your needs:

  • set the following option - 'IDE Settings - Editor - Highlight on Caret Movement - Highlight usages of element at caret';
  • use 'Find Word at Caret' action;
