ItelliJ Freezing

I have a problem where ItelliJ intermittently freezes whilst editing and the only way to recover is to restart (and re-indexed) ItelliJ. This problem has been occurring several times a day and appears to be getting worse.

I have done the following to try and resolve this problem:

  • Upgraded from 9.0.2. to 9.0.3
  • Rebooting my machine
  • Update idex.exe.vmoptions to:

    -Xms384m
    -Xmx512m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=250m
    -ea

But none of these options have work.

My environment currently is:

  1. Windows XP
  2. ItelliJ
  3. Memory 2GB


Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Paul,

Please create a thread dump when the application hangs, submit corresponding ticket to IDEA tracker and attach the dump to it.
