How to use HotSwap? Permanently deleted user Created October 14, 2003 18:24 Hello,Can someone, please, provide some info about subj. I can't understand how to use this... but wanna try :)Thanks!
1. Start debugger for your application.
2. Modify some source files, compile them (or Make Project)
3. Tools->Hot Swap
Thank you!
You know you don't even have to compile/make the project - it's
automagically done for you on step 3. Even easier, eh?

One question: why doesn't IDEA automatically offer to hotswap classes for
you if you recompile them while debugging?
Does anyone know of an SCR for this, or should I file one?

The functionality is already implemented and will be available in the next public build

Hi Eugene,
One (unrelated) question about HotSwap (or Reload Changed Classes).
What is it that makes it work? I'm on Linux and I can't find any Hotswap related items in the Tools menu. The HotSwap panel when I debug is empty.
Is HotSwapping not supported on Linux? Will it be in Aurora? Should I file a report?
Kind regards, Stefan.
It works for me on Linux. I think you must be using an old build.
Have a look under the Run menu instead...
Vil.
