In 896, in my installation, Ctrl Q java doc, displays the parameter info, with 2 or 3 words only in a single line. ( Word wrap kind of thing). This is not readable. Do you mean to say the same problem exists in 908 also? My english is poor. Sorry.

I used to have the same problem and assumed that it was just the way it was for now.
Then I accidentaly opened a project with 3.0.4. Performance went to the crapper and I had to delete and re-install to fix it. Now, the quick javadoc works. Maybe it can help you (backup your projects and your settings).
Still seems like 908 does not work as fast as it did before I opened the project with 3.0.4. Damn. Still great, though!!!!.
