New CVS problem
In addition to the problem mentioned in my earlier post, here is a new
problem I discovered while trying (for Nth time) to use the CVS
integration.
Using the File/Check out project from CVS menu, I create a new CVS root
(":pserver:gpothier@localhost:/usr/local/cvs"). When testing the
connection, after a while I am prompted for my password, I enter it, and
after little bit of time I get a dialog saying "wrong password or unknown
user". Using the exact same CVSROOT and password with the command line cvs
in linux, I can login without problem.
I deleted the .cvspass file and repeated the operation, same result.
Some precisions about my configuration: I have a ssh tunnel from my machine
to the cvs server. The CVS server's version is 1.11.2. My network link to
the server is slow, and the server is slow (in case this problem could be
caused by a timeout).
Hope to see these issues resolved one day... I'd love to test Aurora

It does not work for me... -sigh-

Guillaume,
I got that earlier when trying to connect to a RedHat box running CVS.
After I deleted the entry in the Edit CVS Roots, and re created it, it all
worked ok. It doesn't throw an exception which makes it hard to track down
and file a bug against.

Try to login using command line cvs client.
Test this connection using IDEA (IDEA shoudn't ask your for password).

Olesya,
It did that for me a few times again yesterday. I don't even have CVS
installed on my machine, I personally feel that the CVS impl in IDEA is so
good that I use IDEA to manage my CVS files :)
There seems to be something getting stuck in the settings with the password.
If you enter it once, it feels like it gets cached and never cleared. This
is why I suggested to delete the cvs repository settings, then re create
them, it unfortunately seems to not be working that way for everyone.

IDEA stores scrambled passwords (for "pserver" connection) in the .cvspass
file and clearing cvs repository settings does not lead to the clearing
storing passwords.
"Wrong password or user name" is the error erased when server response was
"I HATE YOU". So i guess there is problem with sending scrambled password to
the server...

I've tried it (using ssh tunneling to the cvs server) and it works fine

It works! Well I did not check out anything, but the list of modules gets
dislayed. I will try to upgrade the cvs server I use to see if this was the
problem.

In both cases my CVSROOT was:

Guillaume, I've found the bug.
It will be fixed in the next build.
Workaround: could you change your password and try again?

HA! That's one of the things I had done on the Linux side and then
things worked, but I didn't think it had anything to do with it! How
weird. Nice find!

Well... your password was excellent ;) but my password reader was buggy (it
didn't read scrambled passwords with blanks at the tail)

Yeah it worked!
Now, after successfully testing the cvs connection, I tried one more time to
commit a folder of my project -> same result as before (error message
saying unknown scrambling method). My sources had been check out with IDEA
3.0 some time ago.
So I created a new directory where I checked out the entire project with
Aurora, and now I can commit without problem.
Whew!

What is cvsroot for sources checkouted with ariadna (it is the content of
the CVS/Root file)?
Check that scrambled password for this cvsroot (in the .cvsroot file) starts
with "A".

Content of CVS/Root of my topmost versioned directory in my Ariadna source
tree:
:pserver:gpothier@localhost:2401/usr/local/cvs
And here is the one of my recent Aurora checkout:
:pserver:gpothier@localhost:/usr/local/cvs
I did not find the .cvsroot file, did you refer to .cvspass? If this is the
case, my .cvspass for Aurora checkout starts with an A.
Well, now I loaded the other project in Aurora (the one that uses the
ARiadna checkout), and I removed the .cvspass file so as to get the
scrambled password in this case. I tried to do a commit, same error message
(unknown scrambling method). But, for my greatest surprise, no .cvspass
file was generated...
