Maven support
Hi,
Is Maven support planned for IDEA ?
I know there exist a plugin that generates your project files
from your maven project.
But i also need to call my goals from witin IDEA, just like with Ant.

I'm hoping for a radical redesign for Version 5.0.
Everything's a plug-in, sitting on top of a basic windowing core ... a bit like Netbeans.
The problem with that is, do plug-ins then become too difficult to write for anyone outside the JetBrains team?
I think that makes them easier to write. if there is something you don't know how to do you have a lot of examples. That is assuming that jetbrains will release some or all of the source code as examples :)
imo all "parts"(commander/ant/...) of IDEA should be plugins. so everybody can select/create his own IDE!
Agreed.
That would be brilliant .... :)
... but a very big re-design :(
Yes, huge ....
ok, generics is a bad example, and I agree ant is use by so many people that this is a definitly good reason to be full part of the product, while maven is far, far from there...
... interation of maven is just my own expectation, I really can understand that it's not everybody one.
Using it in it's current state (a poor documentation, still beta) is a bet, just like I bet few years ago about stuffs like EJB, struts, ant... spending a lot of time learning them deeply... I really think that maven is feeding a miss, and I think that integrating it into a product like idea (maybe once maven1.0 is out there), could push it one step further.
Now if someone has enough time to make a plugin and to keep it up to do that's fine for me. I am sure I would find some times to contribuate, but I really don't have time to start a plugin by myself(I really have a crazy schedule with my current job)...
