how to install Idea on Mac OS X???
Maybe this is not the right place for this question, but I need to
use Idea on Mac OS X. I have to tell you that I am a beginner in this OS.
So, first of all I need to install jdk1.4.1 but I don't know how.
Is there a special distribution for Mac OS X?
Please help!!!
Thanx

Get apple's 1.4.1 here http://developer.apple.com/java/
Then download the .sit file
-intellij.com (http://www.intellij.com/download)
-intellij.net (http://www.intellij.net/eap/products/idea/download.jsp)
You may have to rename if it from redirect.jsp to idea.sit this is a browser bug in ie, so just use safari :).
You can then double click on the .sit file and it should create a folder in the same directory called idea (if you named it idea.sit) inside is one file that you double click and it will install.
I've search it allready but I couldn't find any relevant link to download
jdk1.4.1.
Could you be more precise. Thankx
Daniel
You have to log into ADC. Then on the left frame select download software and then select java. If I sent you a link it would not work because it creates it when you log in. I think it may have automatically downloaded it when you do a software update. Go to a terminal and do a java -version and see what you get.
Apple's Java 1.4.1 is available via the 'Software Update' preferences panel...
If you are running 10.2.6 then software update should take care of installing Java 1.4.1. I believe this is what youmight be looking for:

As far as installing IDEA the installer that IntelliJ provides works just fine.
