GUI Designer

Hi,
New to the eap forum, saw the product at Fluf 1, err I mean Java One, and was wondering if there's a ballpark date for the early access of the GUI Designer? Also, How will it relate to other IDE's GUI Designers?

Thanks,
Stu

It's has been here since the last eap version (#823).

Don't use gui designers, so can't/won't compare.

Thanks,
It's shown with a not available icon on the eap page, but I just saw the content for 823 which has it available.

Check http://talios.blog-city.com/readblog.cfm?BID=102875 for my blog
entry on the UI designer + screenshot + sample code etc.

Thinking again about the features which someone need and someone don't, I
thought: maybe IDEA can change its pricing policy to the one used for big
scientific or engineering packages, where the user can select needed plugins
as if selecting options for a car. Each plugin is priced separately, and
packages may have discount.

So, it this case UI designer haters would have perfect change to get better
price without having unnecessary features. This pricing approach can not
work, if separate modules cannot be made as plugins. BTW, does Eclipse have
commercial plugins?

I guess, changing IDEA to plugin architecture will help JetBrains make more
money as well, while allowing to lower price for those who do not need UI
Editor or CVS support or Commander ;)

Michael.

Yes, it does.

.. or supply a UI editor that works differently.
