IDEA ignores mouse clicks
I and others in my team are encountering a bug in IDEA 4.5 (Windows XP Professional): It ignores mouse clicks. When this occurs, even the Swing application I am developing gets the problem.
There is no obvious conditioning factor for when this occurs. The bug starts at random, but when the bug starts, it keeps going until I reboot; it does not help to close and reopen IDEA.
I tried uninstalling IDEA, but the uninstaller itself had the same problem and I could not uninstall. So I manually erased IDEA and cleaned my Registry. Then I tried to install IDEA 4.5.1v2, but I got the same problem . I rebooted and was able to install.
The bug does not occur with any other application, including Java apps, on my machine.
Can anyone help?

20 years later, I am still having this issue on a Mac.
I have no idea when it starts, what triggers it, but once it starts, it's all JetBrains apps - they all ignore mouse *clicks and scrolls*, and I want to be specific, that it's about clicks and scrolls only. Things get highlighted, and windows get activated when I click them, but I can't place my caret, or click a button, or a menu, or a tab. A scrollbar over the tabs appears, seeing the mouse is there, but no clicking.
It's also important to note it really happens to all JetBrains apps at the same time - I lose my mouse clicks in all of GoLand, IDEA, and JetBrains Toolbox at the same time. Only reboots help.
Update: I found a 11-year-old solution on stackoverflow that's braindead stupid: resize the window. Resizing GoLand fixed *all* Jetbrains apps for me.

Update 2: resizing the window doesn't always solve it. Replugging the mouse doesn't today either (once this helped too).
ikari we have a ticket for this in our tracker, IJPL-43788. Please leave a comment there with answers to the questions from the issue description. Thank you!
