Changing size of vertical scrollbar

are you taking about in the editor?  I usually just use the scroll wheel of the mouse to go up/down.  or page up / page down and  ctrl+page up  / ctrl+ page down.

Its not the solution your looking for, but maybe can help.

(I dont know if there is a way to make the scroll bar bigger sorry.)

It was my understanding that because of the unique (non-standard) scroll bar implementation, it's unlike other applications.  Keep in mind th
e scroll bar is fairly wide when you take into account the area to the left with the colored markers (errors, search hits, etc...) and the ability to directly jump to that point.

I too find the scroll bar on the right hand side of the editor rather tight.  I'd like to be able the change that size as needed.  I'd also like to be able to change the size of the gutter to more easily view css colors.

To be honest, I'd be happy with just the ability to change the width.  The scrollbar is very narrow and I find it difficult to see on my monitor when running at 1080 width[1680x1050 on one monitor, 1920x1080 on the second].  I don't care about changing the 'style' of it, I just want to be able to double or triple the width.

I don't know if that is any easier to program for then giving two different layout options, but figured I'd through out my 2 cents.

Your last post - the one with "change width only on big monitor" - submit it as a feature request to issue tracker @ http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA

I too find that the vertical scroll bar is way to small. Using the scroll button causes me hand pain from RSI, so I use the scroll bar and it is too small to hit consistenly and quickly, especially when with multiple monitors I can rely on the cursor bumping up against the left side of the screen. Please, please can it be made configurable!

I have problems seeing or clicking the vertical/horizontal scrollbars, and I've used version 8 and 10. I'm not seeing any setting to just make normal scrollbars. I really don't need that extra 5 pixes on the bottom and right side, my monitor's Full HD, not XGA like 10 years ago.

Add me to the list of users who don't like the skinny, neutral grey scrollbars with no edge definition, that just blend into the noise on the right-hand side or the bottom of the screen and are too skinny to easily capture. I don't have or want a scroll mouse.

please add a config to be able to WIDEN the scrollbar - say to double or triple of what it is now.

There are other situations ( from example remote logins ) when the scroll bar becomes even thinner.
