Execute script with "active" file as argument

Is it possible to run a script which would automatically take currently active (focused) file as parameter.
That would be SO extremely helpful, aiding our productivity heavily.

If not, is there any workaround?

Hi Tomasz,

External Tools should do the job -- see it at "Settings | External Tools"

Thanks a lot for quick reply. I had no idea about the External Tools functionality - good to know. Parameters "macros" seem to be what I was looking.
I will try it out.
