TypeScript Auto Import relative to tsconfig.json rootDir

WebStorm 2016 adds the following setting under Auto Import > TypeScript: "Use paths relative to tsconfig.json"

 

Is there a way to ask WebStorm to actually read this file and have Auto Import use paths relative to the value of "rootDir" in tsconfig.json?
