Though I am on the EAP version and may have a different interface/features, this plugin has supported templates for quite awhile. The version have has templates for String, StringBuffer and StringBuilder. Go to Setting/Plugins and select the GenerateToString. Go to Edit Template and activate one of the other flavors.

Yep there are quite a few different templates to choose among.
Let me know if you have a custom template you think is worth out-of-the-box?

v3.26 that is just released has such a template out of the box.
