That's a good idea. I wonder if it will work with the small font.

The last time I checked, the IDEA plugin API didn't allow plugins information about syntax coloring of individual characters on the screen. Sorry.

Actually it's not a small font, or a font at all, each character is represented in the code outline as a single pixel.
