Copy Paste and SVN Problem

Hey,

I'm having the following problems using IntelliJ IDEA 14:

1. Copy Paste between IDEA and other Windows Applications, like Notepad++ etc. stops working all of a sudden. Strange enough copy pasting from IDEA to IDEA works, as does copy pasting between the other Windows Applications.
A restart of IDEA helps, but a few hours later the problem might occur again. I'm not sure the exceptions in the log file have anything to do with it, because i don't remember anything being logged there the last times this problem occured, but who knows..

2. I often get this PTY error you can see in the log, when trying to commit to SVN. Again a restart helps. What does not work at all is the annotate function, for whatever reason (used to work in IDEA 12..).

Anyone has an idea about how to fix this stuff?
So far i tried it with different Java versions (1.7.x,1.8.x, 32 and 64 bit) and the 32 and 64 bit IDEA launcher..nothing helped :/

It could be an antivirus misbehaving or some system resources expiring.

Also check if disabling these plug-ins has any effect: CheckStyle-IDEA (4.15.0), Eclipse Code Formatter (14.8.132.637), FindBugs-IDEA (0.9.996), PMDPlugin (1.7.1), QAPlug (1.3.9), QAPlug - FindBugs (1.3.6), QAPlug - PMD (1.3.7)

Hello,

sorry for the late reply.
I've been testing around, the problem still occurrs.
I kinda doubt, that it is the antivirus misbehaving, considering that i'm the only one with the problem in my project, yet we all use the same antivirus. It's really weird. I also didn't have the problem with IDEA 12 (missed 13, so don't know about that)

I attached the newest log too.

Thx

Does it happen with any project?

Try a clean checkout with a fresh working copy. Try updating your command line SVN client used by IDEA to the latest version.

Good point..with one project the problem didn't occur yet, with the other one it happens constantly.
I will try the clean check out thingy for the faulty project as soon as i'm able to and report back to you.

Apparently SVN really was the problem. I guess something went fubar when upgrading the SVN Versions of the workspace. Anyway, the clean checkout worked out. Thanks for your help and sorry that it took me so long to reply! :)

I have the same problem. Copy paste from another program like notepad will only work for some time after which you have to restart InetlliJ Idea. This is with a clean standard installation with the go plugin installed.

Might be a good idea to fix this since for new users it might not be obvious what the problem is and hunting around on the web to fix what most would consider standard behaviour is kinda not what you want to do after you just installed a new piece of software.

It even annoyed me enough to make an account and post here :)
