Can't import maven project

Answered

Hello:

My OS is Ubuntu 14.04 x64, I'm using IntelliJ IDEA Version 2016.1.2 with Maven as:

mvn -version
Apache Maven 3.3.9 (bb52d8502b132ec0a5a3f4c09453c07478323dc5; 2015-11-10T17:41:47+01:00)
Maven home: /vol/opt/apache-maven-3.3.9
Java version: 1.8.0_77, vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: /vol/opt/jdk1.8.0_77/jre
Default locale: es_ES, platform encoding: UTF-8
OS name: "linux", version: "4.2.0-36-generic", arch: "amd64", family: "unix"

Maven work perfectly I can create new projects compile and works with another en IDE (like Eclipse), but when I try to import a Maven project with IntelliJ I have this error:

Try to reinstall IDEA from http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html and make a new Maven installation. See if importing with bundled Maven works. Try a different standalone Maven version, like 3.3.3. If it doesn't help, share the logs folder (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/207241085).

I just ran into this yesterday, and found this looking for my problem. Same exact stacktrace. My resolution was that the artifact repository was down (in my case Sonatype Nexus, but that isn't important). I checked my defined repos and noticed that one of them wasn't responding. As soon as I brought it back online I could once again import modules again.

I hope yours is as simple as mine.
