Debugger: Netbeans 6.5 with new Step Into implementation

I've tried Netbeans 6.5 RC a few minutes and I need to say, I like their
(Smart) Step Into better than IDEA's implementation. For those who don't
tried it: Netbeans draws a rectangle around the selected method name instead
of showing a context menu.

Just curious, is the OpenAPI mighty enough to create a plug-in without a lot
of work to test an own implementation for IDEA? Maybe the structural
analysis result could be reused to just implement on own UI?
