IDEA 12 doesn't start on a Mac OS X

OS Version 10.8

java version "1.6.0_37"

Unlike other reported instances, I don't even see a splash screen.  After a while the dock reports the app as Not Responding.

I don't see anything under ~/Library/Cache or ~/Library/Application Support or ~/Library/Logs

Thoughts?
