Yep I use it all the time - I can't say I've had any real issues with it either.
The only annoyance I've found is when you want to revert back a couple of changes from a previous check-point. When you move the first change across it creates a new check-point and flips the check-point selection to the new one, rather than just leaving the selection where it is. You then need to re-find the previous selection to bring across other changes. Not the best description in the world, but I can't think of a better one at the moment ;)
What do you mean by "fresh install"? Do you mean I should wipe out something in my system directory when I install a new EAP?
Seriously, every time I try to add a label and roll back to that label it works - except when I really need it, and then for some reason it doesn't. I had a colleague experience exactly the same thing yesterday which led to some salty language.

+1 That is the #1 annoying thing for me as well.
I use the Local VCS all the time, esp. for doing quick comparisons on a selected portion of code.
Whenver I swtich to a new build, my local vcs history is not preserved. (Or maybe it's there, but the new IDEA build doesn't think it exists? I never tracked down the actually vcs files to see why it happens ) This bug #10169 seems to be related to that since he said he just started using 6.0.1.
Are you using fresh install? It working for about 5 years :)
