Navigation bar question

Hi,

I have a question regarding navigation bar.
Assuming that I would like to change package and see classes in this new package,
I press Enter on the new package, and then I'm being forced into project view, which opens.

Is there a way to change package and navigate to a class in this chosen package, without leaving navigation bar?

Michal.

Hello Ben,

Thus you do not want to navigate to the project view at all? It is useful
for me when I want to investigate some new part of a project... Am I along
here? ;)

Thank you.

I find it slightly confusing when I press Enter when I have no
drop-down menu and it focusses the Project View.

I would prefer it if I could disable this behaviour and have Enter do
the same as Down Arrow.

When I press Enter when I do have a drop-down it just opens the next
level of hierarchy. I would prefer it if this was the consistent
response to pressing Enter.

I think I agree with Ben, Enter with no drop down should open the drop
down menu. Furthermore a mouse click should also open the drop down.
Those little plus squares take away too much horizontal space but are
quite hard to target, in my opinion. Having the entire package name to
target would be much easier and those plus squares wouldn't be needed
anymore.
The project view would and should still be accessible with F4 and double
click, just like it currently is.

Oh yes, I want to investigate too -- but I can investigate just fine from the navigation bar :) It breaks my rhythm when suddenly the bar disappears and the Project View pops out. If I want to go to Project View, there are separate ways of doing that (if Ctrl+Enter on the navigation bar did that, great... it should do it consistently everywhere)

The thing is, usually I press Enter as habit, to 'go to the next level'. It's forcing me to think too much if it does different things in different places :)
